Evolution of MAY!
Friday, May 15, 2009

Thanks to Danny (blogger) who wrote about his past which inspired me to reminisce my past..Even though I did do a TINY one on my private blog a while ago..

Evolving of May!
(I sounded like a Pokemon for a minute)

I use to believe pokemon was the best show on TV! Only && only BECAUSE I could remember all the words to the theme songs. My favorite part of the show was at the beginning when Ash became a pokemon trainer. I ran to my mum..'MUMM! I'm going to be a pokemon trainer when I grow up'. At that time, Ash was my role model! I wanted to be the greatest pokemon master like him. Then as months past..I painfully realized, there was no such thing as pokemon.

Scene: At the oval across from my flat..
Me: Mum, help me catch a Pokemon please! I promise I'll look after it..
Mum: There's no such thing as Pokemon, May. Its such a TV show..
Me: *refuses to believe..*
finally she learnt the hard way.

So when someone ask me when you were small, what did you want to be?
A mermaid? A princess?
I just change topics...what would they say if I said 'Pokemon trainer'?

When Teletubbies was first introduced, I would watch the television shows religiously. I kept bugging my parents for a teletubbie of my own. Eventually, me and marie layed our hands on our own teletubbies. Mine was Po and Marie's was la-la. I loved everything about teletubbies. I especially loved the shows which brought me to my craze of teletubbies. The television on their tummy? Oh, who would have thought of that?! Out of the 4 teletubbies, Po was my favorite out of them all. I love it when she use to ride her scooter everywhere and said 'faster, faster' in cantonese.
(fi-dit, fi-dit)

Then, there was news that teletubbies was possessed or some silly nonsense lke that. Me and Marie overheard the conversation my parents were having with someone. Then I told my mum to get the teletubbies from our room and throw it away. Mom kept saying, 'don't be silly lah...' but I was persistant, 'THROW AWAYYYY!' So on that day we heard the news, both me & marie's teletubbies was wrapped in a black garbage bin bag && thrown away - never to be seen again.

Man, the furbies? I had the one that used batteries? The one where it started talking and it was more like a pet. I remember that I was too scared to put my hand in its mouth to feed it. So I used a stick to push it in the mouth. The annoying part was putting it to sleep, my furby was stubborn, took me AGES to put it to sleep. Pain in the ass. No wonder my craze for furbies ended quite fast. Like Danny said, what were we all thinking? They honestly look freaking creepy.

Digimons? I had a digimon device that I wore as a watch. I love the shaking and evolving of digimon. Oh-so-addictive. The connecting of digivice battles? Digimons was for boys as far as I know but I was more of a tom boy. So I would constantly shake the device like I had a fit on one of my arm. But digimon ccraze didn't last THAT long in my world. Barely a week and I stopped using it. Such a waste of money. What was I thinking?

Oh, Bey blade! I love it. At the shops, if there were bey blades around, girls and boys were always crowding around them. I believed it was made for boys, but girls was so into it that it became a uni-sex game. Well, it was a uni-sex game in Singapore. The bey blade didn't last very long after. Lasted longer than the digimon craze for sure!

Then in year 7, me and Marie were so into Neopets. We were ALWAYS sharing the computer, playing games, creating guilds. Our conversation were ALWAYS about neopets. Discovered the neopets forum which got us even more addicted than before. Made alot of new friends from around the world like zoe && willa. Learnt that teenagers and adults from around the world plays neopets. Who said it was a childish game? Used to chat on the forums and CO-INCIDENTLY! Found someone from CVC that chats on the forum in the same board as me. Imagine how awkward that was! Used my 'online' name but she knew it was me. Sent me an neomail...

'pssh, is this may?'
'o__o omgee, how did you know my name?'
'so it is you, I'm _______'
oh my! guess what! I use to be in the same guild as you'
blah blah blah...

Then I got introduced to Maplestory! Biggest craze in history! Played it almost everyday for a year. I mean, what is there not to like about Maplestory? I found it fun. Addicted, I should say. I mean, SO MANY people still plays it. *pokes all of you*
Maplestory will always have a place in my heart!

My addiction for Maplestory came to a sudden end when my computer crashed..
very sudden && very sad too...='(

In year 11, I made a few blogs, never kept to it. In year 11, I FINALLY opened a blog that had readers! Got a little help with blogging skills from a few bloggers. Use to want blog comments so badly, remember? Then slowly the craze disappeared && I was always on a search for new, interesting blogs. Friends started to create blogs, now we have a whole network. Closed my blog down. Opened it again. Closed it down. Opened it again. Oh, lovely memories. It is through me blogging that I made friends with Nicole & Debbie. I *heart* them! Then also made friends with Gwen when we hanged out with Nicole. Then had dramas but apparently all the bloggers gave me advice on e-mail. They said its common to have drama in the blogging world Gee, I thought it only happened to Xiaxue!

Anyways, back to studying!
